Sue Baum

Studio 3 B

Sue Baum is a graduate of Pratt Institute in New York but her life careers never included space for her art training and inclinations. ( That is unless you want to count Cub Scout race cars, Girl Scout projects and directing a Sunday School arts curriculum for years.). Since moving to DC and in particular, Glover Park, she has been pursuing ceramics and clay sculpture with a non-stop passion.  The only dilemma is "what to make"...kinda like a full blown ADD problem.   One day she's sculpting nudes and heads, small children and silly singers; the next, it's well studied versions of Japanese tea bowls or thrown espresso cups that she makes for 'pod machines.’  At holiday season, there are the creative and permanent Gingerbread houses (decorated with real icing and candy) and a myriad of Hanukkah menorah choices.

Sue's other main passions are her Grandchildren (2 girls and 5 boys) and travel, travel, travel.  She now lives part time in Santa fe, NM where she also works in a clay studio every day.
