Informal Talk with Jonathan Binstock, Director of the Phillips Collection

Join Jonathan Binstock, the Director of the Phillips Collection, for an informal talk at the Washington Studio School, on Sunday, January 21, 2024, at 2 pm. Jonathan holds a Ph.D. and Master’s degree from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where his dissertation focused on African American abstract artist Sam Gilliam. He earned a BA in art history and psychology from Washington University, Saint Louis. His work as an author includes “Alma Thomas: Apolitical Art in a Political World.”

Jonathan will take your questions and talk about his plans for the Phillips Collection and his impressions of the Washington DC art scene, among other interesting points.
