Talk with David Levy on Modern Art Forgery

  • Washington Studio School 2129 S Street Northwest Washington, DC, 20008 United States (map)

Art forgery is as old as art markets and may date back some 2,000 years.  Many scholars believe that a significant amount of art in today’s museums and private collections, perhaps as much as 20 or 30 percent, is forged. David Levy -- former Director of Admissions and CEO at Parsons School of Design, former Director of the Corcoran Gallery of Art and the Corcoran College of Art and Design, and former President of Sotheby's Institute of Art -- will examine the extraordinary technique and clever duplicity of several modern forgers, through a lively discussion based on his deep knowledge of the subject.
